Restoration of the the farmstead was galvanized by a grant from the Save America's Treasures program to Preservation North Dakota. Citizen volunteers, most prominently North Dakota State University students, have performed nearly all the intensive labor required for restoration of Hutmacher Farm. This page devoted to Hutmacher Farm is the beginning of a substantial website that will recount the history of the site, its restoration, and its future prospects. The site currently is open for the public to examine its outstanding historic features, but interpretation is minimal, and full development as a site of heritage tourism awaits.
